Objectives:
- Promoting Creativity and Imagination: Children are encouraged to think creatively by dressing up as various characters based on their themes.
- Building Confidence: By speaking about their characters in front of an audience, children develop confidence and overcome shyness. Public speaking at an early age helps them gain self-assurance.
- Enhancing Communication Skills: The competition gives children an opportunity to express themselves clearly, improving their language and communication skills.
CONTENT:
The Fancy Dress Competition began on November 20th, with the nursery children participating on the first day. The program started with a morning prayer by the class teachers, followed by a welcome speech by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Geethanjali. The judges for the event were Mrs. Prema Nair and Mrs. Annapoorna Murthy, and they were honored by our Principal, Mrs. Sathya Rani.
The competition was organized section-wise, with different themes selected by the teachers: Nature, Animals, Cartoon Characters, Fruits and Vegetables, Insects, and Birds. The children dressed according to their chosen themes and spoke about their characters. After each section, group photos were taken. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Dakshayini, followed by the Shanti Mantra chanted by the class teachers.
On November 21st, the second day of the competition, the LKG children participated. The program began with a morning prayer by the class teachers, a welcome speech by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Geethanjali, and the judges for the day, Mrs. Kamalam and Mrs. Vanaja, who were honored by our Principal, Mrs. Sathya Rani.
The competition was again organized section-wise, with themes such as Professions, Unique Characters, Save Water, Save Trees, No Plastic, and Unique Themes. The children, dressed according to the theme, spoke about their characters. After each section, group photos were taken. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Shubhangi, followed by the Shanti Mantra chanted by the class teachers.
On November 22nd, the third day of the competition, the UKG children participated. The program began with a morning prayer by the class teachers, a
Welcome speech by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Geethanjali, and the judges, Mrs. Kamalam and Mrs. Annapoorna Murthy, who were honored by our Principal, Mrs. Sathya Rani.
The competition was organized section-wise, with themes such as Technology, Mythology, Historical Figures, Traditional Indian Culture, and Folk. The children dressed according to their themes and spoke about their characters. After each section, group photos were taken. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Hamsaveni, followed by the Shanti Mantra Chanted by the class teachers.
Overall, the program went very well, and most of the parents gave positive feedback about the event.
OUTCOME:
- Creativity and Imagination: The children’s participation in creative themes, such as animals, nature, professions, and historical figures, showcased their imaginative abilities. Dressing up different characters allowed the children to express themselves artistically and think creatively.
- Increased Confidence and Public Speaking Skills: Speaking about their characters in front of an audience helped the children build confidence and improved their public speaking abilities.
- Educational learning: Through the various themes, children learned about important concepts such as environmental conservation (Save Water, Save Trees), cultural heritage (Traditional Indian Culture, Mythology), and social responsibility (No Plastic). The event made learning fun and engaging, allowing children to connect with real-world issues and ideas.
