Admission Process
Starting this November, Nursery admissions will officially open, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for young learners and their families. Recognized as one of the leading ICSE schools in Bangalore, Chinmaya Vidyalaya has embraced a fully online admission process to meet the growing number of applications and keep pace with technological advancements.
This digital approach not only simplifies the application experience for parents but also reflects our commitment to sustainability by minimizing paper usage. Please note that physical application forms will no longer be issued, as we have transitioned completely to this convenient and eco-friendly process.
Selection Process
We at Chinmaya Vidyalaya follow a thoughtful and inclusive selection process to understand each child as an individual. An important part of this journey is a personal interaction with parents, which helps us appreciate your child’s unique abilities, personality, and needs.
We are committed to a transparent and equitable approach, ensuring there is no bias or discrimination of any kind – whether by gender, caste, or creed. For Nursery and LKG admissions, we do not conduct formal tests; instead, we focus on a holistic assessment to recognize each child’s potential in a nurturing and encouraging manner.
Age for Admission
Children born between these dates:
Nursery: 01-06-2023 to 31-05-2024
LKG: 01-06-2022 to 31-05-2023
UKG: 01-06-2021 to 31-05-2022
STD I: 01-06-2020 to 31-05-2021
Note: Applicants must strictly satisfy the prescribed age criteria. A relaxation of 60 days is permitted as per the Department of School Education, Government of Karnataka (effective May 2026). Applications that do not meet the prescribed age requirement will be rejected automatically.

Admission Dates & Procedure
- Online registration opens on the Chinmaya Vidyalaya website
- Children and parents are called for Interactions
- A Confirmation message is sent on selection
- Admission formalities and fee payments are made online
- The application form is submitted at the school Office duly signed by both parents
- UKG students will have a written assessment in English & Math
1 to std 10th
ICSE Syllabus
The School will consider for admission from Std I to X std pupils from all school recognized by the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education on the production of Transfer Certificate duly issued by competent officers of the Educational Department subjected to the availability of seats.
Criteria
- Registration for Class XI begins from November each year.
- Class XI admissions begin in April each year.
- Prospective students undergo an interview prior to the declaration of their Class X board result.
- Students may choose from three academic streams – Science, Commerce, and Arts – giving them the flexibility to shape their education in line with their interests and future aspirations.

Children from Std 1 to 10:
Std. 1: 6 years Plus as of May 31st
Std. 2 above: Clearing the entrance test
TC with STS number from the previous school.

- Birth Certificate
- Aadhar copy of student and parents
- Address Proof
- Photo of the student
- Immunization and Medical certificate for Nursery & LKG only
Admission Procedure
- Admissions are against vacancy
- Candidates are called for an entrance test if a vacancy arises
- 1st Std. – English & Maths
- 2nd to 8th Std. – English, Maths and 2nd Language.
- Candidates are selected against vacancies based on merit.
- A confirmation message is sent on selection.
- Admission formalities and fee payment is made online
- The application form is submitted at the school Office duly signed by both parents.
IMPORTANT ADMISSION GUIDELINES
Verification of Names and Documents
The student's name and the names of both parents must be recorded exactly as stated on the Birth Certificate and Aadhaar Card. For admission to Grade II and higher classes, the student's name must also correspond with the name shown on the Transfer Certificate (TC). Differences or inconsistencies in these details may lead to the application being declined.
Submission of the Original Transfer Certificate
Students admitted to Grades II–VIII and Grade XI (ISC) are required to submit the original Transfer Certificate no later than 10 June of the relevant academic session. If the certificate is not submitted by the stipulated date, the student's name may not be entered in the official school register.
SATS Transfer Certificate for Karnataka Schools
Students transferring from another school within Karnataka must provide the SATS Transfer Certificate. Submission of this document is compulsory.
Permanent Enrolment Number (PEN)
The Transfer Certificate issued by the student's previous school must clearly mention the Permanent Enrolment Number (PEN). Parents are advised to check that this information is included before submitting the certificate.
